The upsurge of environmental consciousness has been referred to as both ‘trendy” and “fashionable”.  And while it’s true that this is a recent inspiration for many of us, I don’t believe that either “fashionable” or “trendy” accurately describe the movement.  Both of these adjectives depict a transistory situation.  A fad.  While a certain clothing style may be trendy, conserving our resources and living more wisely is an imperative.  Yes, this is new to most of us and is certainly the cause de jour.  However, that does not undermine the necessity nor the significance. The reality is many of us were simply unaware.  Others lack the financial resources to implement larger budget solutions such as residential solar electric. Others just don’t care.  This site is for those of us who lacked awareness and budget.  Our desire is to consolidate some of the facts, solutions, resources and inspirations that can help us all move toward a smaller carbon footprint, regardless of income.
